There are numerous chateaux available in which to see the more grand and opulent lifestyle.
See how fine porcelaine is made in a factory at Limoges, the factory shops offer a good opportunity to purchase a single ornament or a complete dinner service. There is also an interesting aquarium.
When you have tried most of these ideas, why not take a train from Poitiers to Paris for a day of shopping and sightseeing. It’s only a two hour trip on the TGV.
